About Legal Nurse Atlantic Inc.

SR-LNASondra Rutman, RN, BA is the president of Legal Nurse Atlantic Inc. Sondra has been a registered nurse for more than 30 years, with experience in acute care settings in Winnipeg, Toronto and Halifax. Her nursing practice has included: QEII Health Science Centre including VG, HI and Veterans’ sites (Emergency, Gastrointestinal, Vascular, Thoracic, Cardio-vascular, Liver and Renal Transplant, Urology and Ear, Nose & Throat Surgical Units, Elder Care), Health Sciences Centre (Adult Intensive Care Unit), and the Hospital for Sick Children (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). At North York Branson Hospital Sondra performed charge nurse duties in the Emergency department and later, was a manager in the Occupational Health & Safety Department.

Sondra also has solid experience consulting in Occupational Health and Safety for both international and local companies including Coca Cola, Avery Dennison and Nova Scotia Power developing, implementing and evaluating health promotion programs, return-to-work accommodation and rehabilitation management.

Sondra has extensive writing and editorial experience, having served as publisher and editor of a province-wide family magazine that featured articles on health and law. Sondra's strong communication skills were honed in the many hospital presentations and seminars she has conducted. She has also been interviewed by the media a number of times, both on radio and television.

Sondra has been a volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Cancer Society, and has served as both member and chair of PTAs in her childrens' schools.

Sondra is currently the president of the Legal Nurse Consultants Association of Canada (LNCAC).
